Does what it suppose to do
I bought this beater to go with the silent sticks, so I could practice acoustic drums without the volume. You can even play without ear-protection If you are not a heavy hitter (but proceed with caution!). I seems sturdy enough, but time will tell.
It's definitely silent enough to keep your neighbours from getting cranky. The downside of these products is they feel a lot different from regular beaters/sticks because of their light weight. But I guess that is a inevitable trade-off for being silent.

Err… NOT a “silent” beater
Reasonable quality product but it does not work as advertised. I didn’t expect it to be “silent” but it isn’t even much quieter than an ordinary beater. Disappointing.
