I love this product!
The only "con" is the fact that you can damage the surface of the instrument if you are trying to set in on the instrument too harshly. I suggest warming the rest in hot water to make it more flexible.

Could be padded
I do like this product, however I personally wish it was more padded and the area where it holds the thumb was a bit bigger. Adding some felt sticker etc to padd it could be done by myself. Also I want to mention that this scratches the flutes if you take it on and off a lot. Anyway, good little helper.

Gives good balance
You don't need this because of a soprano recorder's wight, but it does give more balance when playing. It takes away pressure from your thumb, so you can play more relaxed.

Aulos Thumb Rest for Descant Recorder
A Great little gadget for those of us who like the instrument to feel more securely gripped. This thumb rest fits on all of my Descant Recorders and none of them are Aulos, so don't be put off by the brand.
The only down side I found was that the inside edge had a slight burr which left a tiny scratch on one of my Wooded instruments, but this was quickly taken off with a needle file and now I move it from one recorder to another without any problems.
This product is ideal for those of us who are getting a little older, as once in position it locates your right hand in a perfect position to suit the finger holes.
I highly recommend this to any Descant Recorder Player.
