A good bass if you receive a proper one from the factory

I bought this bass twice, and twice I have sent it back. The good things about it are the good pickups, active/passive control, flexible bridge and the slim fast Ibanez neck. But I think Ibanez is having some unqualified or uninterested workers in their factory because both basses had issues around the neck pocket with missaligned necks. It's a good instrument for the price, if you manage to get one that is well made. I think I will avoid this line for a while until Ibanez puts back good QC as one of their priority. 5 stars to Thomann and the customer service!

Sceptical at first but boy was I wrong

First of all the bad points:
- action was a little high to begin with, but this can be fixed.
- The neck isn’t quite that satin feel, you can still feel some grain of the wood - but this might be a good thing to some.

Positives:
- I had suffered from back and shoulder pain during excessive gigging of my sire v8. I ordered the Ibanez after doing some research and I initially thought something was wrong because the box it came in was so light. After playing for a gig I can safely say, no back or shoulder pain. It is incredibly light when paired with a decent strap
- it packs a punch. Gives a real meaty low end. I had to turn my amp down from where I usually play it at. The controls give good versatility for tone to dial in what you want, from making it pop more to a general meaty warm rock bass.
- looks great. A little different looking to your run of the mill bass. I’ve had quite a few comments on how nice it looks so far

Delivery was as expected and on time and allowed me to play it at a gig. My singers words were “phwoar that sounds meaty”

Great bass for the money

This is my first bass (I’ve only played guitars before) Overall, nothing to complain about, the sound is good to my ears.

What I like the most is the finish it looks great, even next to my guitar made from the same material that cost around $3000. Of course, you can tell the finish here is a bit simpler and slightly rougher, but it still looks really really nice.

There are quite a lot of knobs 😄 I haven’t really used them much yet. It’s very convenient that it can work in both passive and active modes, so you can still play even if the battery dies. I haven’t seen that option on guitars yet (though I’m sure it exists).

Best bass I've ever owned

I highly recommend this model.

Maybe I got lucky, but I received a model with almost perfect balance.

In addition, the mid frequency switch is very useful to play different music genres.

I find the quality/price ratio to be excellent.

One word of advice: The sound is very mid-forward. You can tame it, of course. But only up to a certain extent. So check whether that's something that you want.
