Koshi Chimes Aqua

I recently added the Koshi Chimes Aqua (Water) to my collection, and the contrast and complementarity it offers to the Terra chime is simply stunning. Like all Koshi chimes, this is a masterfully crafted instrument, delivering a pure, crystalline sound.
​Sound Quality & Tuning:
​The sound quality is, without question, magical and incredibly resonant. The Aqua chime has a distinct, flowing, and almost fluid quality to its melody, perfectly evoking the feeling of gentle water movement. Its tuning (A D F G A D F A, which is an A Minor 7th chord) creates a more serene and uplifting sound profile compared to the grounded Terra. The notes blend beautifully, creating an ever-changing and deeply relaxing soundscape. The long, delicate sustain is perfect for sound work, ensuring the notes linger and fully saturate the space.
​Craftsmanship & Harmony:
​Handmade with precision in the French Pyrenees, the craftsmanship is flawless. The oiled bamboo veneer tube is beautiful and contributes to the instrument's wonderful resonance. Importantly, the Aqua chime harmonizes perfectly with the Terra chime. When played together, the interplay between the grounded (Terra) and flowing (Aqua) sounds is incredibly therapeutic and rich.
​Application:
​I use the Aqua chime to encourage a sense of cleansing and emotional flow in my meditation practice. Hung near the Terra chime, the combined melody is truly mesmerizing.
