SPL Quality!
Using this with a 1073 pre and an optical compressor when tracking. It takes a bit of time to get the "feeling" on how and where it works best. Once you find the sweet spot for the vocalist you forget it is there until you turn it off and notice how transparent it is able to reduce the sibilance.

Does the job and does it good
This took out all the harsh s-ess for me easy. And still retains my vocal as it should be.

Powerful Deesser
It really does its job well. In fact, it is strong enough that it can harm your sound if you are not careful. It is not fool proof. You do have to set it correctly. I made some recordings with it set too strongly and it made me sound like I was lisping. Now that I have it set to a more moderate setting, it is just doing what I need it to. I record all my vocals through it, and I am very happy with it.

Innovation
Not compressing the sound, but rather phase reversing and decreasing it that way. It's a lot more natural and not fxxking up the original sound source. Also it's dual band, which means it saves you time and plugins. The best deesser I've heard. The dbx-902 & dbx-502 were the top for me, but this one took their place because of the sheer face that it replaces 2 of them in a single unit and sounds more natural and doesn't kill any dynamics.

Sibilance out before compression.
Narrator here. In the six-inches-away technique, whispering away has a big toll of sibilance. With this 500 marvel, I could supress that horrible sound before going to 1176 and LA-2A compression.
