For punchier kicks in the studio, this is all you need.
I use coated heads on all my drums including the kick, so I needed to buy something to get rid of some of the overtones for recording. This thing is a miracle honestly, it's so weird how well it works.
It comes with pre-cut segments so you can rip off the excess foam to make it fit to your particular kick drum - there's even a pamphlet telling you which cuts are for which kick sizes.
Really does make a difference, I even use this for my live playing as it seems to really tighten up my kick sound and makes it punchier without removing too much tone. Always better than stuffing hoodies and coats inside the kick anyway!

Forget the blankets and the pillows and keep your t-shirts!
Perfectly satisfied with this absorber. If you want a great quality muffling device for your bass drum, this is the best I can recommend! You can use the whole absorber as it is or cut it into smaller parts if you want less muffling. And the squares are for easy measuring when cutting the absorber to fit your bass drum size.
Perhaps, the only caveat is that it is not so easy to remove once inserted and the front bass drum head placed and tuned... unless there is a front port hole in the head that is wide enough for it to pass.
That's all, really. I like it and will buy again for sure.

Great piece of kit for the kit!
Having used lots of different muffler methods over the years this one does a great job on my monster Tama 24 x 20 bass drum. I use a Sleishman Twin and a Tama Speedcobra alternatively, both deliver a great punch so it's important to have the right muffler. ....it's really easy to fit too. Top job Thomann!

Just what I wanted!
This product turned out to be exactly what i needed.
I was looking for something to correct my bass drum in the studio and this absorber got me rid off those long undesirable bass drum decays.
Now I have the deep punchy bass drum sound I was looking for.
Another great thumbs up about this product is the way you can just cut the exactly right size and still make some of the rest in a low tom or something.
I highly recommend this product if your looking for something simple to make your bass drum sound more deep and less spacial.

A little disappointed
Whilst the idea behind this was a good one sadly the first gig I had with this installed in my kick drum the sound engineer still had to tuck a blanket in with it to get the sound right. I'm sure the blanket would have done the job regardless of this foam being pre installed so it was a waste. I can only give 3 stars in total because of this and 4 for quality as it's cut foam!
