Tama BSQ5S Half Soft Sound Beater

I bought these to try them out on a electronic kit (Roland TD-17). Did not work so good since the trigger sensitivity has to be set way to high in order to get any response. They are also very light so you do not get any response from them while playing, which can be a big struggle. I guess they have a point on playing a regular kick drum if you want to lower the drum noise. Other than that not so many advantages of buying this one.

I purchased 2 of these for my Tama Speedcobra and they fit perfectly side by side .
Threat reduction unsound without reducing the feel and doesn't effect the speed in which I play fast double kick .
I’m still able to do heel toe technique but double strokes are a little harder than normal which I see as a good thing much like a workout pad for the hands .
I would mention however the foam has started to tear after a year but I have played them allot .

Very good product and a clever idea for low-noise practice.
The beater feels well made and really reduces the acoustic impact noise.

Unfortunately, it did not work properly with my electronic drum kit setup. On my rubber kick pad, the trigger response became very inconsistent, even with sensitivity settings at maximum.

I think it could work much better with mesh kick pads or acoustic setups, but in my case it was not compatible enough for regular playing.

Still a quality product overall.

le son est effectivement atténué mais pas silencieux. le son devient étouffé. la grosse caisse donne un son plus sourd. si on veut encore diminué le son de la grosse caisse, il faut la combler de coussins ou couvertures...

Not entirely silent, but feels good and gets rid of a lot of volume. Good for practicing endurance and speed, as it has a little bit of a slower response.
