I like the sound
I like hitting things with sticks so this was perfect for me. It also makes a sound, so thats a bonus.
I used it on a recording that needed the sound of a stick hitting a strange looking object. The Thomann TKP Guiro Tone Block Beech make the track rock. I'll be using it again for sure.

Sounds great! Not just for kids
Used for recording percussion for a reggae/dub track.
Sounded exactly like the audio examples provided by Thomann. I am aware that a professional percussionist might look down upon such a cheap instrument but its easy to get a great sound from it.
I will definitely reach for it again at a later date, needs more Guiro!!!

Such a fun little percussion! If you slowly run the mallet over the body of the instrument, it sounds a bit like a cricket, or maybe a frog. The main tone of the instrument is alright. Don't expect any meaningful tonal variations while hitting on a lower or higher point.
