Nice gong. Bloody heavy though! Most of my sound baths are up stairs... I can see either a sherpa or change of venue coming on... lol. But... good deep sound, responsive but not overly so which I like for now. Responds nicely with the rubber mallets for whale sounds etc. I am looking forward to experimenting with different mallets etc.

Disappointing gong

Lord Nibbler 18.10.2020

There is a lot of variance with these Wuhan gongs. Perhaps I didn't get a good one. Sustain is poor for the size, the low end is muddy and the overtones don't want to get going. It doesn't want to sing. Yes, you can coax some interesting sounds out of it but if you are looking to make a gong like this your main "big gong", it is very lacking. Sadly, one to avoid in my experience.

Deap and rich sound

Mitj4 14.03.2024

I use this gong for a sound therapy. It produces verz rich sound with lots of overtones. It can produce verz detailed highs as well as very deap lows. All my customers find the soun veary pleasing. I decided for this size because I wanted to play it also with rubber friction mallets. I opted for Olli Hess lava size 40 and 60. Its is ubeliavable what kind of sounds are possible.
I can only recomend this gong.
The mallet tha comes with the gong is usable but I recomend getting another one. I opted for Thomann GSH L Gong/Singing Bowl Mallet.
About the finnish of the gong it self; it neaded a bit of love. The edges on the rim were a bit sharp- fine metal file takes quick care of it.

Really pleased with this gong gong. Didn´t really know what to expect when I bought it beacuse there weren´t to much info on it on the net. But hey, solid gong, nice sound and really good quality. The mallet that was included was OK, but I suggest you buy a proper one.
I just use it on a really heavy-duty cymbal stand and it´s working fine.
