Boss Katana 100/212 Gen 3

I've played many amps, for reference ENGL Powerball II, Mesa Dual Rectifier, Tube Orange amps etc..
This amp sounds very nice, and not boxy like usual smaller boss katanas sound like. The brown, crunch tones really do sound brutal like they should. The clean tones are wide (the amp is stereo as well because it has 2 speakers, and that contributes to a nice panoramic feel ), and you can make them brighter or darker with the eq variations. The app is really simple to use, the effects are boss, therefore the reverb for example is indeed awesome sounding or the legendary boss distortion effect. Its stage ready, you can plug into a mixer directly with a TRS cable. It doesnt have like a signature sound that you would recognize, like a marshall or the very bright trebley sound of an Orange amp, but it does the job well and is very versatile. I can easily get good tones ranging from metal to blues to jazz or really grunge. Definitely a bang for the buck !
