My first SG

The guitar looks fantastic, the finish is beautiful, and the stainless steel frets are excellent. Playability is good, although the factory action was quite high and needed adjustment.

The sound is quite dark. It works well when playing alone, but in a full band mix with another guitarist, I found that it tends to disappear and doesn't cut through as well as I expected.

The only real downside is the electronics. My guitar occasionally loses signal, which seems to be caused by either the pickup selector switch or the output jack. After looking online, I found that I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. Since it's a relatively simple fix, I'll probably repair it myself rather than go through the long return process and risk receiving another guitar with the same problem.

Overall, it's a great-looking and enjoyable guitar with excellent frets, but the electronics quality control and the stock voicing of the pickups could definitely be better.

Nachtrag:
Auch bei mir funktioniert der Bridge Pick up ab und zu nicht. (Siehe Rezension bei der SG in Farbe Nitro Shift). Sehr ärgerlich dass das natürlich nur sporadisch vorkommt und auf jeden Fall nicht wenn die Gitarre in der Thomann Werkstatt ist. Auf einen Auftritt mit der Gitarre verzichte ich vorerst..

Ich habe bei Thomann vor Ort mehrere SGs getestet.
Gibson Standard, Gibson Standard 61 und die Epiphone SG Futura.

Mir ist in der Verarbeitung kein großer Unterschied aufgefallen, auch der Klang der Futura kann durchaus mit den USA Gibson mithalten.
Das Halsprofil ähnelt dem schlanken Hals der Standard 61, sehr schön zu spielen.
Die Coil Split und Phase Funktionen über Push/Pull Potis ist super, das macht die Gitarre unglaublich vielseitig.
Die Lackierung ist längst nicht so auffällig wie die "Nitro" Version - hier wechselt die Farbe ganz dezent zwischen einem dunklem Violett und einem Weinrot, ins Orange gehts fast nie.

Setup gut aber nicht perfekt, hier gibts noch Potenzial in der Saitenhöhe und auch die Bünde sind nicht 100% abgerichtet. (wenn auch nicht katastrophal schlecht)
