I use these for memory locks on cymbal booms and line them up with an easily recognised part of the arm for reference - the diameter on your arms (no, the boom ones, not your own...) should be checked though, if you want to try this - very important.
Also, I use them for tom and snare holder heights - strong and simple to use, especially if you are using one on a knurled part of the arm, they certainly hold tight when tightened (don't overdo this),
All said, nice useful little beasts - they are all over my kits - makes it simple to get those 'awkward things to get consistent on the kit' right!
Just for reference, I use top end Roland electronic kits and their booms, etc.
If you use them creatively, you'll be surprised what you can do with them...
