Kawai VPC1

Just like anyone else looking for "the piano" feel in a smaller format than a GP, but something alike, I thought I will buy this one, since they've said, that it is a similar wood mechanism, and feel. 5 stars for the marketing. The truth is, that it is nothing even close. It is way heavier than any GP especially any concert GP. The "ivory feel" is a slippery plastic, nothing better or worse than any full weight midi keyboard, including Fatar. The setup is awful, keys have randomly variable weight, the keybed is really noisy (you wake up people in the next room if You play nighttime). The promised half-pedal is not there, instead you have the same on off type as on any cheap board. Keytops are weak, I am not Emerson, but still in about 5 years they are scratched allover. Ended up buying and old Bechstein 203, and restored it. Light-years away even unrestored. My conclusion: if you want a piano feel, buy a piano. Forget about well marketed and overpriced fakes, with a questionable workmanship (keys are made of unfinished wood, and look awful inside).
