Good for what it is

Rumbling sounds 13.08.2026

I was looking after a deep sounding drum to use for teaching workshops and for using in certain musical contexts. Hitting the rim does not have the high pitched pop of a goatskin expensive framedrum but it's still distinct enough for it to sound well, depending on what you use it for. The big bonus is that it is unaffected by weather conditions such as humidity.

I bought this because I have a little obsession with ancient instruments. So this wild thing makes me wanna dance around the campfire while the big blue moon shining upon my face. In fact, the texture of a drum really reminds the moon. I like how much bass it has. Sometimes I wish it has less bass, but there are other drums for that. I cannot really think of any other cons than that. It's a really good drum. Perfectly combines with shakuhachi, didgeridoo, bells etc. If you wanna get wild, this is the thing.

the fiber skin offers a distinct and interesting range of harmonics with various hand techniques and the drum produces a powerful low end that will shake the windows in their frames.

oh and i reckon it's a good vegan option too :)
