It's not up to the former producers, but we don't have a choice either.

The new tapes produced by RTM last year have improved a lot in quality. More than 2 years ago, the quality was not the best. But now it's worth it! However, the resistance over time is still lower than that of the former big and disappeared producers. The sound quality does not rise to the level of the great former producers either. Even the new tape at the first recording has small drop-outs. Which increase over time. It also depends on the production series, the quality is not constant. Unfortunately, RTM still does not rise to a quality level as high as the old brands. But we have no choice and we can be satisfied that there are still producers in this field! The prices are still high, the effect of a monopoly. I recommend the thick band models more. The thin ones are less successful but also less resistant over time.

Banda este de o calitate excelenta. Raspunde foarte bine la semnal atat la inregistrare cat si la redare.

Excellent recording results - Domestic use with refurbished Revox 1377 (Brian Reeves.)
Brand New 1/4" recording tape must be unique! (with demise of Ampex and BASF?).
I have been using reel to reel tape since late 50's / early sixties.
This formulation looks similar to back coated Maxell UD-XL tape (?)
with equally good results. Trust it will be equally long lived and reliable.
Slight disappointment with absence of leader tape.
Is reel to reel the new vinyl?.
Thanks for a very good product.

Packaging compliant with the delicacy of the product

The recording quality of this tape, tested on my Revox B77, is excellent and I'm satisfied with it. However, the older Maxell tapes are still superior. I didn't like the lack of leader tape, which I find absurd. I must also point out that Thomann's packaging is absolutely inappropriate because the RTM tape box was damaged on two sides with two cuts. The RTM tape box was placed in a larger package inside which it was free to move around. Thomann should use padding in the packaging, such as paper or bubble wrap. I don't know if I'll ever buy an RTM tape again.
