A great, unique pickup

Even though it says this pickup is meant for the bridge position, I put it in the neck position and it sounds amazing! With the coils split (which I really advice you to do) you get the cleanest cleans you will ever get from a humbucker. It sounds just like a clean stratocaster! When you use both coils, you get a really unique sound that is best described as a 'mixture between a humbucker and a single coil, but still different'. In this mode it is very suitable for jazzy leads and crunchy rythms.

Pro's:
- the genuine stratocaster single coil sound
- offers a whole array of new sounds to experiment with
- it looks cool and confuses people!

Cons:
- none

Be aware though, this pickup is not meant to be played with heavier styles. It will not sound good with a boatload of gain. Otherwise it's an amazing product and I advice anyone with a humbucker guitar to get one, even if it's only for the lovely clean sounds.

Don't suit my needs

Too vintage for me, I needed an aggressive neck pickup (with distortion) but this one is too smooth in the top end treble. Still, mediums are crunchy.
Not a bad pickup anyway, totally uncompressed, a lot of dynamics, very nice cleans.

Trop vintage pour moi, j'avais besoin d'un micro agressif (en disto) mais celui-ci est trop lisse dans les hauts-aigüs. Pourtant les médiums sont crunchys.
Cela dit ce n'est pas un mauvais micro, pas du tout compressé, beaucoup de dynamique, un beau son clair.

Great convincing single coil tones!

I install these pickups in HSH guitar's neck position to transform the guitar to an HSS. I've installed them in Suhr Modern Pro guitars. You really have to put the two coils in parallel to achieve this. You'll end up with a great single coil neckpickup tone. Quality, fit and finish is always topnotch with seymour duncan products.
