Amazing acquisition!

Viepe22 27.06.2022

I bought this to use with my Marshall SV20, since it is way too loud and doesn't have a master volume.
It's amazing to have so many options to attenuate your amp with quality without paying more than 500 euros. I feel like there is some minimal coloration on the sound, but I could be mistaken. Either way, I can get many amazing sounds on the amp while using this device.
The high cut option is noce, but I don't really like what happens to the "Marshall sound" when I use it.
I would also have liked to have more impedance options, because I don't find it worth it to pay double the price for the bigger Iron Man just to be able to use 16 Ohms.
All in all, I really love this piece of gear. I use this one for my Marshall cab and a Torpedo Captor 16 Ohm for my other cabs.

It is a load box too!

Flavio Pinto 05.03.2022

Fantastic device...reduces volume, keeping the tone.
Another great thing is the lineout quality for recording directly to the interface.
....and best thing: it can be used as a loadbox. If you reduce the level all the way down, you can use it with no speaker (according to the manual). I am glad I bought it!

Amazing attenuator

Charlie Young 04.01.2022

I tried to record without the Ironman II Mini and then record the same tone with it at a low volume (you could hear the guitar strings acoustically) and the resulta were the same.

At last an Attenuator that works.

Jeff RoQ 21.10.2026

I’m kicking myself for not buying one of these earlier. I’ve tried everything going and found compromise but this is perfect.

If you have a decent valve amp especially a none master volume amp this is essential for getting the most out of it. I’m using a Cornell plexi 18/20 and a Suhr hombre.

Home use it’s perfect on the lowest setting and live on 2 or 3 clicks from max. What I’ve found is a complete lack of need for my overdrive pedals now, just the amp and a boost pedal and just volume knob on the guitar getting me everything I need.

I couldn’t be happier. Usual high quality service from Thomann - many thanks
