I love these speakers like crazy.
Don't buy these without proper acustic treatment.
Great and flat. Enough low end that you won't need a sub.
The front leds can be annoying, I've put tape on mine.

These monitors are everything I ever wanted to have, I use them to listen to music, produce, monitor.. pretty much everything and they never let me down. I even took them to a small gig and they did amazing. I definitely recommend them to any music lover that also wants to HEAR everything CLEAN. From my research they're the most flat response monitor speakers for the price range I could've get. Could've got HS7 for a more "friendly with apartment rooms" response, but I always dreamed about HS8 big woof lower freqs. I have to mention a downside as well though, they sound so well that you want to listen to them all day everyday, unfortunately they do be causing a bit of ear fatigue after prolonged hours of use. That depends on other things as well, mandatory ear breaks, how the room you put them in is treated, how close or far the placement is, height etc. At the end of the day, what they say it's pretty true though, things you make from these speakers tend to translate well on other speakers as well. Last mention, I definitely recommend is getting stands, foam pads they can sit on and decent cables+audio card (i got a focusrite, it's good) Thankfully Thomann came clutch on this one because I was on a budget back then and they had a combo with stands as well. Enjoy!

break-in is required ! 5-Star Update: Yamaha HS8 sound incredible after the burn-in period! / My apologies for the misunderstand
Hi everyone,I wanted to update my previous review regarding the Yamaha HS8 monitors and sincerely apologize for my earlier comment. At first, I genuinely thought the monitors were defective or second-hand because they sounded rigid and made some popping noises at the very beginning. It was entirely my mistake, and I am sorry for the misunderstanding. Now that they have gone through a proper burn-in period, the sound has opened up completely. They sound absolutely incredible, well-balanced, and crystal clear. It is a true 5-star product! My advice for new buyers:Don't panic if they sound strange or pop at first. These monitors need a solid burn-in period to loosen up the cones and settle the electronics. Give them some time of continuous playback at moderate volume, and you will hear their true, amazing potential.Thank you to the community and Thomann for your patience!
