Schecter Charles Berthoud CB-4

I placed the order on February 15th. Arrived a few days ago. 140 days of wait... I was about to cancel my order after a couple of delays, but since I am well equipped with high quality basses, I was patient enught to wait for the CB-4.

(On a side note, Thomann's sales reps were very helpful and polite - as always. I will keep purchasing my instruments, accessories and parts from Thomann.
I hope GLS will soon be available for Thomann's courier services within Europe.)

Based on the first week's experience, the CB4 quickly became my favorite.

It is lightest bass I've ever had: 3.7 kg only.

Indonesian workmanship is simply immaculate. I am quite picky guy, but couldn't find anything to complain about on this bass when it comes to build quality.

Setup was easy. Replaced the strings with Elixir Nanoweb 40-105 (light) set, that I use for all of my basses. Neck adjustment was almost perfect, a quarter turn was necessary only to set a minimal relief.

The playability of this bass is unbelievable. The neck is smooth like silk, and it comfortably blends into my palm.

Bridge adjustment: some folks have criticized it, personally I have found it easy to set to a perfect action and intonation.

One thing I am missing is a manual, that would explain the bridge setup, the purpose and function of the 4 adjustment screws, recommended settings for neck relief and action, but I guess it is partly up to the players individual preference.

Pickup and electronics. I found the variety of settings perfectly enough for a number of playing styles, broad range of genres.

I summary: I am very happy with my purchase, highly recommend it despite of the loooong delivery.
