Sad and disappointing

Ordered on 13.02.2026, arrived on 19.02, returned to thomann on 20.02, arrived back at thomann on 27.02, got the money back on 09.03.
The reason for return is not related to glue residues on the guitar body or nasty imperfections on the binding or where the neck joins the body (lets say I could have lived with those not thinking of the price of this instrument); the reason has to do with a cracked fretboard which could have happened on the way from the factory to thomann or on the way from thomann to me - the result of bad quality packing (some other brands include a two-way humidity pack even on way cheaper instruments).
Speaking of quality, first of all, there was no labeling/sticker of QC being executed in the factory and more disappointing, I've been informed by thomann via e-mails that thomann is not checking or performing any QC on "this model" (this model probably means any brand that isn't owned by thomann). So, they get an overseas transport, they don't check it and then sends it directly to the customer. I am afraid to order again.

Amazing instrument

The quality of the instrument is very high. Even the small details are perfect when viewed closely. The color is amazing, you don't understand it when looking at photos. Pickups sound good. Sustainiac is, of course, a new toy, but I find it useful. The only thing you could complain about was the packaging from the Schecter factory, which was very bad and poor - the instrument was packed loose with Allen keys. When I opened the package I was very surprised that the instrument was not scratched. This type of packing would suit some very cheap and poor instruments. But certainly not for such an expensive instrument.

A great guitar

Einsatz:
- privat

Positives:
- Der Sound ist super. Die Pickups sind für einen verzerrten Sound wie geschaffen.
- Der Sustaniac tut was er soll
- Auch ohne Sustaniac hat die Gitarre einen unglaublichen Sustain
- Die Bespielbarkeit ist tadelos. Harmonics waren wie ich finde besonders leicht zu spielen.
- Die Farbe ist außergewöhnlich und sehr ansprechend

Negatives:
- Ergonomie: Die Gitarre hat einen unangenehmen spitz zulaufende Kante an den Rändern, sodass bei mir nach 5 min Spielen im stehen Schmerzen im Unterarm der Schlaghand zu spüren waren. Im Sitzen liegt die Gitarre so an, dass die Kante nicht zu spüren ist. Da ich überwiegend im stehen spiele ist die leider nichts für mich.

- Die Verarbeitung war für den Preis nicht wie erwartet. Das Binding war unregelmäßig und es waren Kratzer darin zu sehen. Der Übergang vom Hals zum Körper war auch unsauber verarbeitet (ganz anders als auf den Bildern zu sehen). Sie wirke für mich eher wie B-Stock Ware.

Fazit:
Wem die Harte Kanten nicht stören und wer bei der Verarbeitung ein Auge zudrücken kann findet mit der Schecter C-1 FR S Apocalypse Red Reign eine sehr gute Gitarre.
